Maci Tolleson
Maci discovered the field of Women and Gender Studies while receiving their undergrad degree from San Francisco State University and was happy to return to the program for their M.A. Maci is a first generation college student and while getting through higher education has been challenging, she is excited to pursue a Ph.D. program after graduation and continue learning and teaching. Maci is passionate about pursuing a career in teaching higher ed and views pedagogy as an integral part of political praxis.
Maci combines their Marxist training with their passion for Women and Gender Studies and focuses on the numerous intersections of Indigeneity and Marxism within their research. Maci is also currently a reading and writing tutor with TASC on campus and loves the tutoring process. Outside of work and school, Maci loves playing video games with her partner, listening to reggaeton and metal, and playing with her two giant dogs.
